So what's with the name?

Certainly the name 9Marys arouses curiosity. We always knew we wanted the name Mary for the new girl. It was essential for clientele to associate the fine Indian food of our sister restaurant Chutney Mary's in Subiaco with this Mary.

While building the new premises it was lovingly referred to as bloody Mary's. But in the final stages of putting the interior together we knew that somehow Mary was not happy to be blasphemed every time she was mentioned.

Research into Indian history and modern art came up with Queen Mary Empress of India and the dynamic Andy Warhol Nine Blue Jackie's print. The empress certainly led a colourful life as did Warhol.

Mary has her brand new home where she royally presides over her loving followers! And rarely does a lunch or dinner go by without someone asking why the 9Marys name?
